From September 12th to 15th, 2024, the delegation of Enshi Prefecture was invited to attend the 8th UNESCO Asia-Pacific Geoparks Network(APGN) Symposium held in Cao Bang, Vietnam, and was granted the certificate of new member of the Global Geoparks. The theme of this Symposium was "Local/Indigenous People and Sustainable Development in Geoparks", more than 800 representatives of geoparks from 19 countries attended.
At the closing ceremony, six new Global Geoparks in 2024, namely Enshi Grand Canyon - Tenglongdong Cave ,Mount Changbaishan, Linxia, Longyan, Wugongshan and Xingyi, received the new member certificates issued by Mr. Guy Martini, the Secretary General of the Executive Board of the Global Geoparks Network.
